Under the supervision of the Director of Aquatics, this position is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, repair, and record keeping of the Rolfs Aquatic Center. The incumbent will generally work independently and is self-managed. A Certified Pool Operator License is required but can be obtained in the first 6 months of employment. Knowledge of State of Indiana regulations to remain compliant with local, county, and state set standards is preferred but can be taught to a hardworking, intelligent individual. There are two positions that will typically be scheduled Monday-Friday, 2:30-10:30 pm or 3:00-11:00 pm OR Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM or 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, including select weekends for events which

include overtime pay. Work hours are subject to change to meet the needs of the Notre Dame Athletics Department.
Responsibilities Include:
Daily monitoring and adjusting bromine, chlorine, and pH levels to comply with state and county standards, record keeping of pool chemical levels for the Rolfs Aquatic Center pool and various aquatic therapy tubs at other athletic facilities.
Daily cleaning of the pool deck, pool basin, hot/cold tubs, stainless steel, diving boards, starting blocks, multiple storage rooms, and trash removal.
Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues that arise
Identifying and reporting maintenance needs to the Director of Aquatics so work orders can be created.
Assisting other aquatic staff members with pool setups as the swim coach requests for practices and competitions.
Performing scheduled and unscheduled preventative and emergency maintenance actions on equipment to ensure safe and comfortable swimming for student-athletes, faculty, and staff using our facilities.
This position may be required to assist with preparation and management at home Swim and Dive Meets and other duties as assigned by the Director of Aquatics.
High school diploma or
GED
6 to 12 months experience
Solid mechanical aptitude
A solid understanding of chemistry and math
Withstand a high level of physical fitness
Obtained or willing to obtain with in the first 6 months:
National Swimming Pool (
CPO
)
Certified Pool Operator Certified.
Restricted Use Pesticides Certified.
American Red Cross Certifications
CPR
, First Aid, and
AED
.
In addition to the Certificates, the following annual training is required. Annual Pulmonary Function Test & Respirator Fit Test
