Job Description
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The FCA Coordinator will provide leadership, organization, and support for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) ministry across DBU’s mixed-division athletics program, serving both NCAA Division I and Division II student-athletes, coaches, and staff. The goal and objective of DBU Athletics is to develop Champions for Christ, both on and off the playing surface, and this position exists to strengthen the spiritual development pillar of the DBU Department of Athletics by fostering discipleship, fellowship, and outreach opportunities for student-athletes across all sports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution preferred; equivalent ministry experience considered.
Knowledge of and prior involvement with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) or similar campus ministry programs strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relational ministry skills, with the ability to connect authentically with student-athletes from a wide range of backgrounds.
Experience planning and leading Bible studies, devotionals, chapel services, or small-group discipleship preferred.
Ability to build relationships with coaches, student-athletes, and athletic department staff across both Division I and Division II programs.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform job duties in accordance with DBU’s vision, mission and values, and in a way that contributes to the spiritual development pillar of the Athletics Department.
Plan, organize, and lead weekly FCA huddles, team Bible studies, and chapel services for student-athletes across both Division I and Division II teams.
Build authentic relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff to provide spiritual mentorship, encouragement, and discipleship opportunities.
Coordinate team chaplains, huddle leaders, and student-athlete leadership teams across all sports, providing training and support to ensure consistency with FCA and DBU mission goals.
Coordinate logistics for FCA events, retreats, camps, and mission trips, including scheduling, communications, and travel arrangements in partnership with coaches and athletics staff.
Be visible and present at practices, competitions, and athletic department events to build relationships and support student-athletes and coaching staff across both divisions.
Assist in connecting student-athletes with local church communities, campus ministry resources, and additional discipleship or counseling support as needed.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This part-time position requires approximately 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility needed for evenings, weekends, and travel based on team practice and competition schedules.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211
Requirements
Must be a Christian and a member of a church that holds to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in the New and Old Testaments of the Holy Bible.
Must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with Christian values, and be able to give testimony of and disciple student-athletes in their faith.
