Job Summary

Student Videographer

We are searching for students interested in joining UWG Football through the film department! The primary responsibility of this position is to shoot practices and games. This position allows for unique access to the football team as part of the organization. Filmers will be required to attend practices, set up camera equipment, and shoot assigned drills. Students who are teachable and willing to learn can be trained in the needed skills. Opportunity to film different activities throughout the year. The ideal candidate is very detail-oriented and will be required to report to work during scheduled shifts with undivided attention. Possible opportunity to travel during away games. Comply with all NCAA, UAC, and University of West Georgia rules, regulations, and policies.

Equipment Student Assistant

The Student Assistant (SA) has primary responsibilities in working with a specific sport or in the equipment room, assisting equipment managers with daily operations and practice duties, and assisting with competition setup and breakdown. Essential Job Functions (include, but not limited to):

• Laundry pickup, washing, and dispersal.
• Equipment maintenance and repair.
• Field/court set-up and breakdown.
• Locker room preparation for all games.
• Loading and unloading of game trucks for all home and away games.
• Comply with all NCAA, UAC, and University of West Georgia rules, regulations, and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Operations Student Assistant

The Student Assistant (SA) will support the Director of Football Operations in administrative and operational tasks. The student assistant will work closely with coaches, athletes, and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the football program. Essential Job Functions (include, but not limited to):

• Assist in compiling reports and presentations for coaches and administrative staff.
• Assist in the preparation of necessary compliance documentation and reports.
• Assist with practice and game day responsibilities assigned by the Director of Football Operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Football Operations.
• Comply with all NCAA, UAC, and University of West Georgia rules, regulations, and policies.

Recruiting Student Assistant

The Football Recruiting Student Assistant assists and supports all aspects of the team's recruiting efforts while adhering to NCAA, UAC, university, and departmental rules and regulations. Essential Job Functions (include, but not limited to):

• Assist the Recruiting Coordinator and Director of On-Campus Recruiting with planning and executing a twelve-month recruiting calendar vision and recruiting marketing plan (mail, video, social media, etc.).
• Design and produce promotional print and digital content, including but not limited to recruiting mailers, social media content, and other additional content to enhance the UWG Football brand.
• Maintain football recruiting databases (XOs Scout) and ensure all prospect and high school/junior college coaches¿ information is accurate and current.
• Identify, evaluate, and collect data on prospects to provide direction to the coaching staff through available and permissible sources (e.g., recruiting services, websites, etc.)
• Assist with planning and coordinating official and unofficial visits to campus (itineraries, hosts, name tags, seating charts, compliance paperwork, complimentary tickets, etc.).

Social Media Student Assistant

Extensive knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their participants, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, etc. Experience writing content for social platforms and an understanding of how the platforms are unique from each other. Experience measuring engagement on social media platforms and creating plans utilizing these measures. Strong social media and marketing expertise able to connect and mobilize audiences to action. Experience working with email marketing programs. Excellent copywriting skills, ability to deliver creative content

Required Qualifications

• Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.
• Committed to coming to every practice and home game

Preferred Qualifications

• Able to attend all football practices
• Ability to work home football games
• Basic knowledge of American Football
• Applicants with experience using video cameras are preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for 3 hours and lift 25lbs
• Able to work in a variety of weather conditions
• Able to work early mornings, or late nights
• Ability to climb steep stairs/ladders (fear of heights not advised)
