Job Description Summary
Support and assist the head coach as needed to ensure the success of the team.
JOB SUMMARY
The coach of the figure skating ice dance team is responsible for the assisted oversight of the day-to-day functions of the team. They are to understand and adhere to the Club Sports policies and procedures while attending department meetings and training sessions as needed. The qualified applicant must show strong interpersonal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Qualifications
· SafeSport certified
· USFSA coaching credentials
· Knowledgeable of the 6.0 scoring system
· Knowledgeable of the IJS scoring system
Job Responsibilities
· Able to work with a variety of skating levels
· Able to provide choreography skills to enhance a program
· Knowledgeable of the Intercollegiate Handbook
· Knowledgeable of Intercollegiate solo dance patterns from Preliminary to International levels
· Knowledgeable of the solo freelance requirements
· Able to communicate clearly to the student
· Able to coordinate with Head Coach monthly
· Provide own transportation
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Four-year college degree, 1+ years in a figure skating ice dance coach position at the high school or collegiate level. Strong leadership experience and well-developed communication skills are required. Current coaching certification and registration with US Figure Skating is required.
