ROLE: Interviews students to obtain information needed to determine eligibility for financial aid and performs other functions related to that position. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:
Report to the Director of Financial Aid
Work closely with members of the Athletics department, co-curricular programs, as well as other members of the Financial Aid department
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
Package incoming undergraduate and all athletes (incoming and returning) students by following federal, state, NCAA and Concordia University policies and procedures.
Use Banner for all financial aid processes
Use ARMS for NCAA athletic compliance processes
Responsible for all aspects financial aid related to NCAA
Use government websites to review student information i.e. Web Grants, COD, FSA, NSLDS, etc.
Counsel students and families
Process incoming financial aid documents with efficiency to make sure students' files are completed and processed in a timely manner
Manages the undergraduate student verification process (includes athletes)
Process Professional Judgment appeals in regards to special family circumstances and communicate the results to undergraduate students
Assist with admission new student initiatives (Open House, etc.)
Assist with other related financial aid duties as mutually agreeable with the Director of Financial Aid
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university;
Two to three years' related experience and/or training;
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Know CUI, conference and NCAA rules and regulations to ensure compliance with departmental, university, conference and national policies

Computer skills, including the software used in this office
Respect and maintain confidentiality on matters pertaining to the Financial Aid Office
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
