The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics seeks to hire First Aiders to provide coverage during various sports camps, which take place throughout the year.
Job responsibilities include:
Providing first aid to campers of all ages attending UVA sports camps with supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Activating the Emergency Action Plan for all emergencies within the camp setting.
Documentation of all injuries to campers.
Communication with Certified Athletic Trainer, Director of Sports Medicine, and coaches regarding all injuries and missed sessions for campers.
Collecting and maintaining registration documents through the duration of camp.
Providing water and ice to camps not included in the Gatorade Summer Camp Sports Program.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine.
Position Compensation: $25.00 per hour.

Required Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience : A minimum of two semesters in an Athletic Training Education Program or collegiate internship program in Sports Medicine is required.
Licensure : First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. Valid driver’s license with the ability to submit a copy of driving record preferred.
Please Note: Hires will be selected based upon the listed qualifications in addition to candidate availability for camp coverage. Housing is not available.
