Summary/Objective

This position works directly with the Head Men’s Soccer Coach to assist in all aspects associated with the operation of a successful NCAA Division I men’s soccer program. Specifically, the assistant coach will coach student-athletes, providing instruction to develop overall athleticism, agility, skills, and understanding of the game. The assistant coach will utilize film to teach student-athletes. The assistant coach will assist in practices, providing direction during games, talent evaluation, and on and off-campus recruiting.

Essential Functions (required: Percentage of effort for each Essential Function totaling 100%)

• This position provides game management, tactical adjustments, post-game analysis and evaluation, and skill instruction to members of the men’s soccer team. Instructs all student-athletes in fundamentals, training procedures, and workouts specifically designed to improve skills. Assists the head coach in instructing student-athletes during practices and games.

• Assists the staff in recruiting efforts for the men’s soccer program to attract quality student-athletes to the program. Evaluates prospective student-athletes’ athletic performances through video and in-person evaluations.

• Assists in the strength and conditioning program for men’s soccer.

• Performs administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• Full-Time, 35 hours/week.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree​.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience​.

​​ Preferred Educationand Experience

• ​​Master's degree​.

Travel Required

• Travel locally, regionally and nationally for competition and potentially internationally for recruiting. After hours and weekend work frequently required to attend games and related athletic events.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Commitment and ability to maintain and exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

• Previous soccer playing experience at the collegiate or professional level.

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
