Essential Functions:
· The academic coordinator works directly with students to identify and implement appropriate interventions as necessary.
· The successful candidate will work with Football student athletes.
· Utilize research-based learning strategies to improve student outcomes with reading, writing, and time management, and counsel students on matriculation/graduation requirements, the course selection process, and relevant institutional policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
· The ability to anticipate issues, properly assess pertinent data, and develop/implement practical solutions to complex issues.
· A high degree of self-motivation, work ethic, organization, attention to detail, and productivity, with an ability to manage time, set and meet deadlines, and independently follow through on duties as assigned.
· Project genuineness and warmth as a service-oriented communicator.
· Anticipate student needs and act to address them.
· The ability to communicate and work collaboratively within the football academic support team is essential to success in this role.
· This individual will be a member of the department's academic support unit and will report to Jacqueline Davis, Director of Academic Services.

Required Qualifications:
· Master's degree in counseling, social work, education, student development, athletic administration, or related field.
· Experience in academic advising, teaching, or counseling at the university level is preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of students, coaches, and university partners.
· To meet the needs of a unique, diverse group of students, successful candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule with an openness to understanding different points of view.
Anticipated start date: September 2024

Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
Work requires one year of experience in program administration or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events.
