The coordinator for football will prepare the practice and game plans for the offensive or
defensive side of the ball.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Football Coordinator - 75%
Serve as the offensive or defensive coordinator for the football program; Position coach preference is
for Offensive line for offense or linebackers coach for defense.
Attend practices, competitions, meetings, planning sessions, and other essential football-related
activities;
Assist the head coach in administration and management of the football program as assigned;
Actively participate in the recruitment and retainment of student-athletes;
Demonstrate professionalism and engagement in professional development activities, including but not
limited to, knowledge acquisition, staying current with teaching techniques, strategies, and trends,
attending professional meetings, and serving in leadership positions in professional organizations;
Adhere to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the American Rivers
Conference, and NCAA Division III;
Demonstrate a willingness to support the mission, philosophy, and goals of Luther College, the
American Rivers Conference, and the NCAA.
Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Home Event Management - 25%
Will have official scorer's table responsibilities for all home basketball contests as assigned by the
Associate Athletic Director
Will be responsible for game management duties like greeting and leading officials, assisting in the
press box, etc. at select home softball and baseball games in the spring.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist head coach with supervision of assistant coaches, part-time assistant coaches, volunteer assistant
coaches, student-coaches, student-managers, and other student-work employees in the football program and
athletic department.
Experience: 3-5 years of successful coaching experience
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty,
staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
May require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as noise, extreme temperatures,
inclement weather, and other adversities as the incumbent performs duties and responsibilities in both an
indoor and outdoor setting as well as occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and/or the ability to lift, carry,
push or pull or otherwise move objects with a limited amount of force.
The responsibilities require travel and a willingness to work weekends and non-traditional hours
