Alabama State University, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invites applications for the position of Football Equipment Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for the organization and administration of Equipment Operation.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Coordinate with coaches to establish necessary athletic equipment/apparel needs for football - Manage the football equipment room, including supervision of staff - Formulate and implement equipment room policies related to purchasing, equipment fitting, computerized recordkeeping, physical inventory control, laundry, and equipment transport - Monitor issuance of uniforms to teams, coaches, or individual athletes and maintain an accurate record of files regarding equipment checkout - Monitor daily maintenance of equipment, which includes laundering, repairing, and general upkeep of equipment - Coordinate student workers in performance of athletic equipment maintenance duties - Purchase athletic equipment, order equipment according to department procedures, and check in equipment upon delivery to verify receipt - Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance and/or arrange for repairs of equipment maintenance machines - Prepare equipment for distribution by stamping names or number on equipment for track purposes - Assist with fitting athletic equipment to individual athletes - Coordinate the preparation of facilities for intercollegiate athletic team practices and contests - Store and pack sporting equipment appropriately when not in use - Travel to athletic games as assigned to perform equipment maintenance responsibilities

A Bachelor's degree, and 3 years of experience managing Division I football equipment needs, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organization and time management skills, and be adaptable to a fast paced environment. Certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association is preferred.
