Under the general supervision of the Football Strength & Conditioning Coach, Associate Athletic Director ? Football, and the Director of Performance Nutrition, the Football Performance Nutrition Registered Dietitian will assume leadership and responsibility for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and management of the performance nutrition services provided to the football student-athletes. Provide individual and group/team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of competitive student-athletes. Primary responsibilities include: counseling individuals on daily nutrition for performance and health; translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition recommendations; providing performance nutrition education for health/wellness programs, and maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice. Incumbent will work with the Football Strength & Conditioning Staff, and Football Athletic Training Staff to integrate their work into the UCLA Football program.

Bachelor's degree in health/nutrition related field or equivalent work experience required.
Master's Degree in Nutrition or Exercise Physiology.
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Dietitian in the collegiate setting.
Demonstrated compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Must have a thorough understanding of NCAA Division I Football and working knowledge of how nutrition integrates into the daily operations of the Football Performance Model.
Incumbent must demonstrate proficiency and experience in coaching / nutrition for a minimum of five years at the high school level or higher. College or NFL experience is strongly desired.
Must have the ability to analyze situations, identify problems, and implement solutions impartially and fairly. Ability to make decisions on immediate problems within prescribed scope of authority, based on knowledge of policies and procedures, including pertinent NCAA rules and regulations.
Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in assignments, deadlines, completing requirements, and workload. Skill in organizing material, information, and people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort.
Skill in developing and planning nutrition care plans for athletes including goals, intervention and instruction.
Skill in obtaining body composition measurements and interpretation of the measurement to athletes, athletic trainers and coaches.
Knowledge and ability to analyze dietary supplements marketed to athletes, coaches and staff.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, professionals, and administrators.
Proven skills in negotiating, exchanging ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions or solutions.
Incumbent must have excellent writing and oral communication skills to communicate effectively at a variety of levels including officials of the NCAA and Pac-12, administrators, staff, and coaches. Demonstrated writing skills to complete concise, effective and grammatically correct reports, policy statements, procedures and correspondence.

Skill at managing shifting priorities and changing pace of workload.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with culturally diverse students and staff.
Ability to critically review the professional literature on nutrition education, especially athletic health and sports nutrition.
Ability to evaluate research proposals, to analyze and articulate suitability and feasibility for implementation.
Skill at working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
Knowledge and ability to comply with Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Have a thorough knowledge of nutrition programming. Ability to create individualized macronutrient profiles based on bodyweight, body composition, and performance needs. Have a thorough knowledge of NCAA division 1 football recruiting and a demonstrated ability to assist both the coaching and recruiting staffs.
Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
3-5 years' experience as a Registered Dietitian in the collegiate or professional setting.
College or NFL experience is strongly desired
Ability to operate a computer with working knowledge of various computer software systems including Microsoft Office, Max OS, Keynote, Pages, VISIO, XOS Video System, and database entry. Demonstrated word processing and computer skills to complete assignments with speed and accuracy.

**This is a contract, full-time position with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan.
The budgeted hiring/target salary range for this position is the posted minimum to $7,916.67 monthly ($95,000 annually), with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.**
