Description

Midway University is actively seeking a full-time Assistant Baseball Coach to join our program. Working closely with the Head Coach, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in recruiting talented student-athletes, providing skill instruction, offering academic support, and ensuring compliance. An additional emphasis for the position is recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes, and the administration of a competitive intercollegiate Baseball program.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Adhere to University, River States Conference and NAIA policies and procedures.
• Provide help administering our Baseball program, including recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, travel and practice plans for a pre-determined roster size.
• Assist the coaching staff and administration to ensure that all team members have completed all required eligibility forms prior to participating.
• Coordinate and evaluate as-needed coaching/training sessions, ensuring that effective principles, techniques, strategies, and methods to achieve sport proficiency is happening; observe student-athletes during practice to determine opportunities for growth.
• Work with college staff/officials to prepare facilities for competition for home contests.
• Maintain confidentiality with office and team related issues.
• Assist in the development of marketing and communications materials for the program.
• Assist in the oversight and responsibility for Farmer-Ball Stadium on Midway campus.
• Provide help to oversee our Junior Varsity (JV) Baseball program, including recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, travel and practice plans for a pre-determined roster size.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required, master's preferred. Prior coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level is highly desirable. Ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes is preferred. This position will require a background and driving record check. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
