Position Summary: The Head Coach will be under the direct supervision of the Vice President for
Student Life and Athletics and under the academic/faculty supervision of the Vice President for
Academic Services.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
• Directs, coordinates, and has general responsibility of the M/W Track Program within the
purposes of the institution and regulations of the NAIA and AAC.
• Follows discipleship plan for team, holds regularly scheduled team bible studies, and fosters
a team environment that encourages and supports spiritual growth.
• Monitors academic progress of student-athletes and fosters a team environment that

supports and encourages a high level of academic success.
Invests in the community and helps coordinate and supervise community service projects
within the surrounding counties.
Actively recruits student-athletes according to TMU policy and meets yearly recruiting
goals.
• Ensures that the M/W Track Program is conducted within the vision and mission of the

institution.
Advises the VP for Student Life and Athletics on all matters related to the conduct and
oversight of the M/W Track Program.
Recommends the scheduling of all contests under the guidelines provided by budgetary
restrictions, program scope and athletic guidelines, rules, and regulations. All schedule
proposals are under the supervision of the VP for Student Life and Athletics and in
cooperation with all other scheduled activities of the university.
• Within the fiscal limits of the appropriate budget, is responsible for ordering and
maintaining uniforms, equipment, and supplies for the M/W Track program.
• Oversees the development and implementation of, and is responsible for, the M/W Track
Budget.
• Coordinates with the VP for Athletics, the White County High School Athletic Director and
Track Coach to schedule and facilitate all track and field practices at the local high school.
• Works with the Assistant AD for external operations regarding any fundraising
opportunity and manages the M/W Track TRF account working with the TMU Business
Office ensuring all funds spent are for approved purposes and with the approval of the VP
for Student Life and Athletics prior to the spending of funds.
Meets with the VP for Student Life and Athletics on a regular basis to be informed of issues
and policies that will affect the M/W Track Program.

• Maintains the personal conduct, appearance and discipline of team members and coaches
that is appropriate for intercollegiate athletics teams and appropriate to reflect positively on
the purpose of the department and the Christian mission of the college.
Maintains financial and scholarship records of current budgetary status as determined by
the VP for Student Life and Athletics.

• The Head M/W Track Coach will be responsible for supervising any assistant coaches and
student workers assigned to the program.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the VP for Student Life and Athletics.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Degree
Preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job: Must be able to physically run practice
sessions, works outside a majority of the time, must be able to be able to drive to meet the
requirements of recruiting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledgeable in all aspects of the sport, Computer proficient,
Able to meet/exceed recruiting goals, Able to maintain and work within a budget, Able to recruit
and develop players, Able to coordinate and schedule proficient training sessions.
