Position Title: Full-Time Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach/Athletics Equipment Manager
Reporting To: Athletic Director

Job Overview: The Head Coach for Men’s Lacrosse/Athletics Equipment Manager will assist administratively with uniform, equipment, apparel and beverage needs to benefit the department’s intercollegiate programs. This individual will work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, coaches and third-party vendors in order to best service each program within the department.

As the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, this individual is accountable for building the requisite roster size and developing a student-athlete recruitment plan to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of an appropriate roster. The Head Coach implements a strength and conditioning program and plans for and manages practices and games. The Head Coach also must provide positive guidance to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic success.

Essential Functions:

Athletics Equipment Manager

• Serves as department point person for department equipment and uniform needs.
• Works in collaboration with head coaches for annual equipment and uniform needs and comprises master uniform rotation for the Director of Athletics.
• Primary point of contact with external vendors in the areas of equipment and uniforms.
• Maintains all team uniforms and gear, including order verification, inventory, disbursement, and collection.
• Coordinates athletics beverage ordering in conjunction with third-party vendors.
• Serves as game administrator for home contests as needed.
• Completes all other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach

• Develop and implement a recruiting plan to achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of Men’s Lacrosse in accordance with the College’s enrollment growth strategies.
• Develops and implements a daily practice plan to ensure proper preparation for intercollegiate competition.
• Promotes Albertus Magnus College's visions and values by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation.

• Supervises assistant coaches and provides feedback for continued growth and development.

• Represents their respective program during coaches’ meetings.

• Provides a year-round strength and conditioning program tailored towards the individual sport.

• All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge of collegiate rules and a demonstrated compliance with said rules.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s).
• General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level.
• A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport(s).
• General understanding of the recruiting process at the college level.
• A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.

Work Schedule Requirements :

• Monday – Friday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
• Special Work Schedule Requirements : This position includes weekend and evening hours.

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break. You will have the opportunity to participate in our retirement plan from day one, and after one year of employment, the college contributes depending on your service years.
