GA-Strength and Conditioning

GENERAL SUMMARY :

Candidates must have a strong desire to become a full time Strength & Conditioning coach in the Collegiate field.

Compensation includes tuition waiver & an option for campus housing.

Consideration will be given to individuals who possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a strong work ethic.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Design and implementation of the strength programs for assigned athletic teams, provide athletes with instruction for safe and proper lifting technique, assist with the day to day operations of the university's varsity weight room.

Daily communication with sport coaches, athletic trainers, and other duties assigned by the head strength & conditioning coach.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS :

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field. CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, and either hold or pursuing SCCC, CSCS, or USA Weight Lifting Certification. Collegiate level coaching experience preferred. Must be accepted into the CMU graduate program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift 50lbs, stand on your feet for periods of three to five hours at a time.

Set up/Breakdown of equipment for team lifts.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Public Speaking abilities; Personnel Management Skills & Experiences; Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Should possess housekeeping and organizational skills.
