Apply NowPrimary responsibility is to provide support during athletic events. Plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of athletic events, contributing to the overall success and fan experience of the athletics program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Assists with event setup and tear-down of equipment, signage, and facilities for athletic events, ensuring that all required materials and resources are in place
2. Provides support in various game-day operations, including ticketing, crowd control, and customer service to enhance the overall fan experience
3. Performs routine maintenance and cleanliness tasks to ensure that the athletic facilities are in top condition before, during, and after events
4. Assists with the transportation, setup, and maintenance of athletic equipment and gear as needed for practices, games, and events
5. Collaborates with coaching staff and other athletics personnel to address team needs and assist athletes in various capacities
6. Prepared to respond to emergency situations, including assisting in first aid, crowd control, or evacuations as required during events
7. Interacts with fans and guests in a friendly and professional manner, addressing inquiries and ensuring their needs are met to enhance their experience
8. Maintains effective communication with the Athletics Department staff and event coordinators to ensure a cohesive and well-coordinated event operation
9. Adheres to all university, NCAA, and conference policies, rules, and regulations, particularly as they relate to the support of athletic events
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
None
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of athletic equipment handling and facility maintenance
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Some college coursework or an undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in event support, athletics, or customer service
ABILITIES
Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the event schedule
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
