Dome is seeking Temporary Game Day Supervisors for Ushers, Ticket Takers & Security staff to work on an as needed basis for events in the 2024-2025 academic (June 2024 through May 2025) season. The primary responsibilities as a Supervisor are to monitor and assist all Event Staff under your direction to ensure the proper completion of their duties. Also, to provide on-the-job-training and support to all staff during events.
As a Supervisor, you are a leader for the entire Event Staff. We expect you to work as a team with all other Supervisors and staff personnel. You are encouraged to help in other areas as needed and assist all staff members that need assistance.
Be a helpful, courteous leader of your staff and patrons.
Have complete knowledge of the Dome Playbook, and policies & procedures.
Monitor Event Staff members’ promptness, appearance, and performance.
Inform the Director of Security & Event Staff of any changes to your roster, such as personal and schedule related information.
Applicants must be flexible and able to work events that on average last between 5 – 7 hours.
Events take place on nights, weekends, and some holidays.
You are expected to be available to work a majority of the high priority events such as: SU Football, SU Basketball, Monster Jam, and all Concert events.
Usher Assistant Supervisor & Supervisor:
Attend all pre-event meetings with the Dome Management staff prior to events.
Assist the Supervisor with staff deployment & pre-event meeting with team members.
Inform all staff members of pertinent information relayed to you by the Dome Management.
Assign all your staff members to their designated positions as quickly as possible and release to assignments prior to doors opening.
Ensure that your work area runs properly and smoothly during the event, which includes answering questions and assisting Event Staff members with difficult problems.
Be alert for radio calls.
Continually monitor your work area.
Be prepared to move staff to different locations if necessary.
Report all on-the-job injuries, no matter how small, immediately. Complete Incident Reports as needed.
Report to your designated gates for exiting at least 10 minutes prior to the conclusion of the event.
Meet with the Director of Security & Event Staff for staff performance and event review.
Ticket Taker Supervisor:
Attend all pre-event meetings with the Dome Management staff prior to events.
Assist the Supervisor with staff deployment & pre-event meeting with team members.
Manage staff check in and coordinate all ticket scanner distribution.
Inform all staff members of pertinent information relayed to you by the Dome Management.
Assign all your staff members to their designated positions as quickly as possible and release to assignments prior to doors opening.
Ensure that your work area runs properly and smoothly during the event, which includes answering questions and assisting Event Staff members with difficult situations.
Be alert for radio calls.
Continually monitor the Ticket Taker team, and be available for troubleshooting scanner related issues.
Be prepared to move staff to different locations if necessary.

Security Supervisor:

Dome Security Guards, with active
NYS
Security Guard License.
Provides direct support and supervision to Event Staff Security teams responsible for Gate Entry.
Assist the Director of Security & Event Staff in coordinating and implementing all game day Security operations related to the entry process.
Assist with the Game Day support of Event Security Operations for all major
JMA
Dome events.
Oversee the setup and breakdown of all metal detecting equipment and support accessories needed at each entry location.
Manage all metal detecting equipment while in use
Supervise the Game Day check in process, pre-event meeting, and staff deployment process.
Ensure that assigned staff are prepared for their assigned post and receive all necessary instructions.
Set an example of work ethic and professionalism for all staff in your area.
Supervise and train staff on proper operation of metal detecting equipment.
Addresses any patron questions or concerns that arise during the entry process.
Assist with the development of security staff, policies and procedures, as well as training programs and initiatives.
You must be able to stand and walk during an entire event in a stadium environment.
Sometimes Event Staff Team Members are required to set up/take down chairs (must be able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds) or push guests in a wheelchair.
