Southwestern College is currently seeking applicants for a Game Management/Sports Information Graduate Assistant.  This position is on a 10-month contract that runs Aug 1st – May 31st.  Southwestern College, an NAIA institution and member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), is a private comprehensive college with an enrollment of about 1,700 students.  With a main campus in Winfield, Kansas, it also offers degree completion programs online.  It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and for more information about the college, please visit www.sckans.edu.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reports to the Sports Information Director
• Perform assorted game-day duties, such as public address announcing, play-by-play broadcasting, and interviewing coaches and student-athletes
• Assists with Gameday setup, in-game work, & tear down
• Supervises work-study students and table staff for Gameday management
• Write releases and feature articles, edit and design media guides and game programs, maintain historical records, and compile statistics.
• Assist with updating the Athletics Department website and social media sites (rosters, schedules, biographies, previews, etc.).
• Gain a working knowledge of live video streams of home contests.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director, Athletic Director, and/or athletic department

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is required
• Applicant must obtain acceptance in Southwestern College’s graduate program
• Applicant must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends)
• A background using SIDEARM and Adobe is preferred
• A valid driver’s license is required and must pass a Motor Vehicle Report
• Must pass a background check
