To support and assist the Director of Athletics in all activities related to the intercollegiate athletic program, as well as providing assistance to the athletic department for event coverage.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing assistance in the administration of day-to-day operations involving intercollegiate athletics. This includes event coverage, office assistance, and assisting with the daily demands of an intercollegiate athletic program
Assists at home athletic events as determined by the Athletic Director
Performs other duties as assigned by Assistant Athletic Director. This may include monitoring the Barber Fitness Center and fundraising activities
Other duties as needed to support the athletics department
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be accepted into and enrolled in one of the graduate programs at Drury University
Must complete the minimum of graduate hours per semester to be classified as a full-time graduate student and be in good standing.
Must possess knowledge of intercollegiate athletic programs
Must have the personality to interact with on-campus as well as off-campus clients and fans of the university
Attention to detail for preparing mailings and organizing event locations and personnel
Ability to effectively respond to requests and accurately communicate information regarding students, faculty, or staff
Ability to use a computer and associated software applications, specifically Microsoft Office for preparing schedules and tracking results and standings
Ability to effectively communicate information, verbally and in writing
Ability to solve problems and think critically and independently for organizing and completing workload
Ability to understand instructions for interpreting policies and procedures, preparing reports, and communicating instructions
Good memory skills for recalling dates, people, events, and records in order to retrieve information for reports and files
Ability to set goals, prioritize, and organize tasks and workload in order to complete assignments in a timely manner
Ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm and methodical manner
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and others
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in progress
