Managing relationships of friends of the basketball programs, including cultivation and stewardship of alumni, donors, season ticket holders
Strategic scheduling in alignment with GW enrollment objectives and
DAR
objectives
Primary academic liaison for men’s and women’s basketball
Primary liaison with the capital projects associated with basketball programs
Monitoring all transfer market related information including transfer portal, industry trends
Primary liaison with ticket sales and marketing departments to drive both student attendance/season ticket sales
Focus on community engagement activities for both programs including on- and off-campus appearances for students and coaches
This role would be the primary liaison with all revenue generation units on campus to build opportunities for both of these programs.
The position is based at GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC but may require significant domestic travel for games and events. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 8 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 6 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership skills
Experience in sports management/business administration, higher education administration, collegiate athletics administration
Ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and the Washington, D.C. community
Competitive varsity collegiate experience in basketball
Displayed the highest of ethical standards
Background in student-athlete development
Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred
Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines with limited resources and multiple competing priorities
Commensurate with Experience.
