Manages the daily operational and personnel activities of Forest Akers Golf Courses with a focus on overseeing individual and group instructional programming, club fitting, and golf club retail operation; responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling of part-time range and custodial team members; assists with overseeing all operational areas of the golf courses including: inside/outside operations, golf shop, range, golf instruction, club fitting, and food & beverage operations; assists with forecasting and monitoring the annual budget and creating, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures for Forest Akers Golf Courses; assists with overseeing golf outings and daily play; works with the general manager and other operation managers on short and long term planning for the golf courses; prepares monthly and periodic special reports as needed; other duties as needed to manage daily golf course operations.
All positions in SLE are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Golf Course Management, Marketing or other related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in golf course management and knowledge of golf course operations; one to three years of supervision experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Golf Association (PGA) or Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) member or apprentice; experience teaching individual and group golf lessons.
