Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant - Athletic Communication. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletic Communication and is located in River Forest, IL.

Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program. Graduate Assistant contracts run consistent with the academic year and offer tuition remission and a weekly stipend.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assists in coordinating all aspects of publicity efforts for all 22 of Concordia Chicago sports, including but not limited to in-game and historical statistics, preparation and dissemination of information to the media, and promotion of student-athletes and coaches to media and for postseason and weekly awards
• Assists the Athletic Communication staff with scheduling and overseeing student workers
• Maintains the athletic website with pre- and post-game stories, stats, records, etc.
• Participates in the creation and implementation of department social media strategy and campaigns to increase publicity and event attendance
• Helps maintain historical records and archives to produce content on alumni and past teams
• Assists in the set-up and start the live streaming software
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications or Director of Athletics
• Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Requirements:

• Prior experience working in a collegiate or professional athletic communications office
• Prior experience with in-game statistical software (Genius & StatCrew) new media applications (Instagram Twitter, etc.) and basic computer applications
• Proficiency in writing and interviewing with knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro and Photoshop is preferred
• Bachelor's degree required
