The Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications & Media Relations assists the Directors of Sports Information in managing, shaping, and producing the stories of NGU athletes, coaches, athletic programs, and contests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Director of Sport Information & Live Productions.
Assist with producing and live talent of our athletic broadcast on the Conference Carolinas Digital Network.
Assist with live stating games and contests.
Assist with creating and maintaining up-to-date statistical records for teams and individual athletes.
Write game previews and recaps for sports assigned by Director of Sport Information.
Assist in generating content for the NGU Athletic website, program publications, and digital platforms.
Assist with the set up and tear down of all broadcast & other technology needed for a sporting event.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility and ability to lift equipment or other items of 50 pounds.
Hearing well enough to communicate with students and co-workers.
Visual ability to drive, read and use a computer.
Cognitive/Emotional – ability to critically think and concentrate.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The position is a part-time position in Athletics. The Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications & Media Relations reports directly to the Director of Sports Information & Live Production.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications & Media Relations is required to maintain normal office hours, attend all home athletic events and required meetings.
TRAVEL:
Travel is required for some athletic events, conference and other required meetings. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee. S/he will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by his or her supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree required.
