General Statement of Duties: The Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer shall be a Graduate Student enrolled at Waynesburg University who assists with the supervision and coordination of the University’s overall athletic training program, including, but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries, short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and athletics related health care administration in consultation with and under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Team Physician(s) and other qualified medical personnel.
Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Team Physician(s), Athletic Director
Supervises: Athletic Training Students
Job Qualifications: All interested candidates will need to successfully enroll in a graduate program at Waynesburg University in order to be eligible for the assistantship. Candidates must possess strong organizational and communication skills; the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines; and availability to work evenings, Sundays and weekends
License or Certification: Must possess or be eligible for certification by the NATA-BOC, must possess or be eligible for Athletic Training Licensure in the state of PA.
