Florida Memorial University (FMU) Athletics is seeking motivated candidates with an interest in pursuing a career in sports administration or coaching to serve as a Graduate Assistant. A successful Graduate Assistant candidate will play an active role in FMU's athletics program and collaborate with staff and administration to ensure student-athletes are provided with opportunities and services to help them succeed academically and in athletic competitions.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external constituents. This includes having professional interactions with the administration, coaches, student-athletes, and the University Community.
• Possession of a strong work ethic, organizational skills, time management, customer service, and a positive team mindset.
• Coaching Adherence/compliance with Florida Memorial University, NAIA, and Sun Conference policy and procedures.
• Requires frequent work in an outside environment (athletic events) and ability to sit for periods of time in an interior office environment. Requires travel or work outside of regular work schedule for events or travel.
• The omission of specific duties does not preclude the department head from assigning tasks that logically relate to the position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to handle information of sensitive and confidential nature in the utmost professional manner.
• Effective analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse constituents.
• Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability.
• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Qualifications:

• Students must be admitted into a Florida Memorial University master degree program.
• The position requires a bachelor’s degree.
• CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Extensive hours and weekends will be required at times.
• Pre-Employment screening is required: criminal background check and drug testing.
