The primary responsibility of the Graduate Assistant (GA) for Study Hall & Student-Athlete Support will be to assist the BEAR Central and Athletics in supporting current student-athletes to ensure their academic success. The GA will maintain open hours in BEAR Central. Additionally, the GA will be responsible for oversight of the student-athlete study hall program. The GA will support all student success initiatives as it pertains to the needs of BEAR Central and Athletics.

The primary responsibility of the Graduate Assistant (GA) for Study Hall & Student-Athlete Support will be to assist the BEAR Central and Athletics in supporting current student-athletes to ensure their academic success. The GA will maintain open hours in BEAR Central. Additionally, the GA will be responsible for oversight of the student-athlete study hall program. The GA will support all student success initiatives as it pertains to the needs of BEAR Central and Athletics.

Key Assignments

• Work 21 hours a week with a combination of daytime and primarily evening hours in BEAR Central.
• Oversee study hall program for the fall and spring semester
• Monitor and train Evening Study Hall Monitors and assist with scheduling, including any scheduling conflicts that may arise.
• Schedule and meet with current students to offer academic coaching, including time management, study skills and goal setting.
• Assist with all BEAR Central evening academic support events for current students.
• Become knowledgeable of TracCloud platform and assist students and tutors with scheduling, reporting, etc.
• Assist in any student success initiatives for all students as needed.
• Support all needs as pertain to BEAR Central and athletics as assigned.

• Professional and engaging phone, email and face-to-face communication skills.
• Professional appearance and representation of Lenoir-Rhyne University.
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a small office environment.
• Self-reliant and proactive; ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience with social media and multimedia creativity.
• Experience with database management.
• Proficient in MS Office products.
• Scheduling flexibility, including working Sunday hours to support current study hall needs.
