The Graduate Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to recruiting, scheduling, training, monitoring academic progress, promotions, fundraising, and coaching team members. The Graduate Assistant is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Liberty University, Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Assist coaches with daily needs in all aspects.
Develop, instruct, and teach student athletes.
Use recruiting technologies to evaluate and recruit potential and current student-athletes.
Recruit athletically and academically successful players.
Monitor student-athletes day to day academic growth, development, and success.
Help with and host PSA during official visits.
Ability to communicate effectively with student athletes, staff, parents, alumni, and faculty.
Demonstrate to student athletes a standard of high athletic and academic achievement.
Demonstrate and instruct strong leadership skills both on and off the field.
Ability to uphold all Liberty University policies, guidelines, and expectations.
Ability to uphold NCAA rules and guidelines
Complete any other tasks/duties assigned by the Head Coach.
Bachelor's degree required.
Knowledge of NCAA Division 1 rules and regulations.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills.
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
