McDaniel College is a four-year, independent college of the liberal arts and sciences offering over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs. The compensation for this position includes full-time graduation tuition (up to six courses per fiscal year), the Bronze meal plan, and a cash stipend. The position is eligible for overtime for any hours worked over 40 per workweek.

Reporting to a Head Coach, the graduate assistant coach (GA) is responsible for supporting the management of a varsity intercollegiate sport program at the college. Duties include providing support in the areas of coaching, recruiting, practice and game organization and team operations, retention, and administration. The GA will also serve as game management staff at off-season intercollegiate contests as assigned by the department.
