Job Description:
Reporting to the Equipment & Contest Manager, the Graduate Assistant will assist in management and care of events and equipment for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation and the Department of Kinesiology. The individual will prepare areas (indoor and out) for class instruction, practices, scheduled athletic contests, and designated special functions as assigned by the Director of Athletics - Internal Operations and the Equipment & Contest Manager.
Specific Responsibilities
Prepare practice, game, intramural and instructional equipment for practices, games and classes which could include the following:
Perform regular inspection and repair (within capabilities) on permanent and expendable equipment.
Follow approved procedures to safely and securely store athletic equipment, uniforms and supplies.
Coordinate and supervise student workers in the day-to-day performance of equipment room related activities and game management.
Abide by the code of ethics and policies set forth by McDaniel College and the NCAA.
Perform other duties as assigned or otherwise required by the nature of the position.
The compensation for this 20-hour a week position includes an hourly stipend, tuition remission and a meal plan.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to operating machinery consistent with care of doing laundry.
Abilities/Physical Characteristics
This position requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and move objects in weight up to 50lbs regularly. A large majority of the time is spent performing manual labor. Specifically, this position requires the following.
