Description

Wheeling University, a Division II institution, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Assistant for Football to join the coaching staff in the Department of Athletics. This position will provide a hands-on learning experience in the field of collegiate athletics while pursuing a graduate degree. The Graduate Assistant will assist the coaching staff with football operations, recruitment, team management, and other aspects of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches with daily football operations, including practice planning, team drills, and game preparation.
• Help coordinate video analysis, including breakdowns of games and practices.
• Assist with recruiting efforts, including evaluation, communication with prospective student-athletes, and campus visits.

The Graduate Assistant will assist the coaching staff with football operations, recruitment, team management, and other aspects of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches with daily football operations, including practice planning, team drills, and game preparation.
• Help coordinate video analysis, including breakdowns of games and practices.
• Assist with recruiting efforts, including evaluation, communication with prospective student-athletes, and campus visits.
• Support team travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodations, and logistics.
• Provide support during practices and games, including equipment setup and player supervision.
• Assist in the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as maintaining player records and team statistics.
• Attend and participate in coaching meetings and professional development sessions.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletics Department.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; acceptance into a graduate program at Wheeling University.
• Strong passion for collegiate football and a desire to pursue a career in coaching or sports administration.
• Previous playing or coaching experience at the high school, college, or club level preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is a plus.
