PERSONNEL CLASSIFICATION: Graduate Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Offensive Coordinator / Defensive Coordinator / Head Football Coach
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Graduate Assistant (Film & Operations) is responsible for supporting the coaching staff through film management, video operations, practice support, and administrative tasks. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all film, data, and operational needs of the coaching staff are completed accurately and on time. The Graduate Assistant must demonstrate strong attention to detail, organization, and a willingness to support all areas of the football program.
PRIMARY DUTIES / ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Film all practices and games using the assigned video equipment.
2. Upload, tag, and organize all films using Hudl or designated platforms.
3. Ensure all practice and game film is available to the coaching staff in a timely manner.
4. Assist coaches in breaking down opponent film and preparing scouting reports.
5. Maintain organization of all video files, practice clips, and game footage.
6. Set up and manage camera systems for practices and games.
7. Assist in creating cut-ups, reports, and video presentations for coaching staff.
8. Support coaches with data entry, film edits, and video requests.
9. Assist in practice organization and drill setup when needed.
10. Ensure accuracy and consistency in all video-related tasks.
11. Maintain confidentiality of team film, reports, and internal data.
12. Perform all other duties assigned by the coaching staff.
ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support Academic Coordinator and position coaches with academic monitoring when assigned.
2. Assist in tracking study hall attendance and class check data when required.
3. Reinforce academic accountability standards when interacting with players.
4. Maintain awareness of academic expectations within the program.
5. Assist with academic-related administrative tasks when needed.
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with daily practice setup and breakdown, including equipment and field organization.
2. Participate in all team travel, including bus rides, hotel stays, and scheduled activities.
3. Set up and operate video equipment during games and travel.
4. Assist with loading and unloading equipment for practices and games.
5. Conduct assigned operational tasks during travel, including assisting with organization and logistics.
6. Support room check procedures and assist in enforcing curfew/lights-out expectations when assigned.
7. Assist with field house cleanliness and organization.
8. Support equipment operations, including gear distribution and collection when needed.
9. Attend weight room sessions and assist with monitoring when required.
10. Attend team chapel and all required football program functions.
11. Support protein shake distribution and recovery operations when assigned.
12. Assist with the organization and execution of Skull Sessions and player development meetings.
13. Assist with receiving and organizing program-related packages and deliveries.
RECRUITING RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
1. Assist with recruiting operations when assigned by the coaching staff.
2. Support recruiting visits through setup, organization, and logistics.
3. Assist in preparing recruiting materials, film, and presentations.
4. Communicate professionally with recruits when required.
5. Represent the football program professionally during recruiting events.
6. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all recruiting-related interactions.

3. Maintain proper grooming and hygiene consistent with program standards.

6. Communicate clearly with coaching staff and other personnel.
7. Maintain confidentiality of all program information, film, and data.
8. Represent the football program and institution positively at all times.
9. Avoid any behavior that negatively impacts program operations or culture.
10. Demonstrate reliability and accountability in all assigned duties.

1. Attend all required staff meetings and football program meetings.
2. Learn and develop skills in film breakdown, video operations, and football analysis.
3. Participate in professional development opportunities related to coaching and operations.
4. Gain knowledge of football systems, terminology, and strategy.
5. Seek feedback from coaching staff and implement improvements.
6. Continue to improve technical and organizational skills.
7. Demonstrate a willingness to grow within the profession.
WORK RELATIONSHIPS
The Graduate Assistant reports to the assigned Coordinator (Offensive or Defensive) and works closely with all coaching staff members. This position interacts daily with coaches, players, and managers and supports multiple areas of the football program, including film, operations, and recruiting. The Graduate Assistant serves as a support role across all levels of the program.
