The University of Indianapolis is seeking an organized and driven individual to serve as the Internal Operations Graduate Assistant within the Department of Athletics. This Graduate Assistant will support the operations of key functional areas such as NCAA compliance, academic success, team operations, and athletics administration while pursuing a graduate degree at UIndy. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in collegiate athletics administration and offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the department’s daily operations and strategic goals. Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to NCAA Division II values.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
● Previous experience in athletic administration, NCAA athletics compliance, data analytics, as a team manager, or related fields is preferred.
● Familiarity with collegiate athletics and the NCAA Division II environment is a plus
Education:
● Bachelor’s degree required
● Acceptance into a UIndy graduate program required.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple tasks concurrently
● High level of organization, task prioritization, and attention to detail
● Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office; experience with data management, and/or Teamworks software preferred
● Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Other Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ● Contribute to organized structure of task processing for NCAA compliance needs for the department, such as team activities monitoring, recruiting, competition logs, and pre-season setup
● Process initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility certification in conjunction with the Deputy AD for Internal Operations / Compliance and appropriate campus partners
● Submit violations and/or waiver requests to the NCAA or conference office, as necessary
● Serve as a resource for staff members and student-athletes regarding NCAA rules interpretations and rules education, as directed by the Deputy AD for Internal Operations / Compliance
● Support team operations/logistics needs such as travel, calendars, forms, files, and communication
● Manage official roster statuses and profiles for department stakeholders and student-athletes
● Assist with data collection and reporting for compliance, academic success, business operations, and athletics administration needs
● Provide technical support to staff members and student-athletes for departmental and campus software
● Support student-athlete development initiatives, such as Hounds Leadership Academy, SAAC, and service
● Deliver prompt communication to department members, student-athletes, and campus partners
● Represent the athletics department professionally and provide high-quality service to student-athletes, coaches, campus partners, and visitors
● Assist with host contest preparation and operations on occasion
● Other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
● Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
● Demonstrate respectful, ethical, and responsible behavior. Abide by the University’s, NCAA’s, conference office’s, and athletic department’s policies, procedures, and rules.
● Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies.
● Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
