Position Summary

The Graduate Assistant for Media Relations is responsible for contributions to the University’s athletics website and serving as the primary contact for assigned sports while assisting with other sports. The Graduate Assistant reports to

Essential Functions

Serves as a liaison with local and national media.

Writes error-free press releases and feature stories.

Maintains the department’s website and social media channels for timely informational accuracy.

Produces media supplements, record books, and game programs.

Maintains statistics and archives.

Provides information to the

NCAA

and conference office.

Maintains positive relationships with Coaches and Student-Athletes.

May travel with assigned teams.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Familiarity with Stat Crew software and NCAA Live Stats. - Strong Communications skills. - Demonstrate superior writing, editing, and judgment. - Provide enthusiasm and the long-term goal of working in the athletic media relations profession. - Strong work ethic. - Possess an ability to meet deadlines. - Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communications and cultures. - Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. | | Required Education |
