The LSU Athletics Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for its Operations Department. The position will assist professional staff members in the coordination and execution of all varsity sporting events and other special events.
• The position requires preparation for and attendance at all assigned events in addition to weekly office hours
• The position will work with external entities such as Allied Event Staffing Service, Lofton Security Service, LSU Police Department, LSU Parking & Transportation Department, Facility Services & Landscaping, Acadian Ambulance, ROTC, and other entities to ensure all fans and participants have a safe and enjoyable event experience.

Other Roles & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
1. Assist with the planning and management of all athletics related and special events hosted in Louisiana State University Athletic facilities
Ensure proper game day setup and preparation is complete, as well as help tear down following all assigned athletics related and special events
Provide gameday support as the Game/Facility Manager for select sports and special events.
Collaborate with other departments within LSU Athletics to ensure guest satisfaction with event experience.
Supervise seven interns and 20-25 student staff.
Assist with guest services and event staffing aspects at assigned events.
Work closely with coaching staffs, game officials and visiting teams to ensure event quality.
Contribute to the necessary work involved in the care, preventative maintenance, repair, improvements, renovations and operation of playing fields, multi-purpose buildings, arenas, stadiums, and other athletic areas.
Assist gameday parking operation – supervise lot attendants, ensure equipment/signage is operational, etc.
Manage contracted transient staff (security, parking attendants, ushers, bag checkers, ticket takers, etc.) during sporting and special events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
Accepted to or enrolled in the LSU Sport Management Master's program or other related graduate program
Available to work 25 hours per week including nights, weekends and holidays.
Possess a positive, professional attitude and collaborative mindset, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.
Possess knowledge and ability to adhere to policies and procedures of Louisiana State University, LSU Athletics, the SEC and the NCAA
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous collegiate or professional athletic operations and/or facilities experience
Previous experience working with LSU Athletics or an NCAA Division I athletic department
Previous experience with conference championships and/or NCAA postseason events
Technical experience with EMS Scheduling Software, WeatherSentry, ISS 24/7 Incident Management System, Precision Time Systems, DVSport, and/or Wanco Traffic Signs
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Demonstrated ability to communicate with coaches, staff and external constituents
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays is required.
Must be able to walk up and down stairs and stand in one place for long periods of time in variable weather conditions.
Compensation:
Paid tuition
$2,000/semester while enrolled
Will not be able to work any other on-campus paid position
Paid summer hours if not enrolled in classes and during breaks in between semesters. (40 hours/week)
