Job Summary:
Responsible for managing specifically designated areas of the administrative operations of the men’s and women’s tennis program. Oversees strength and condition program by evaluating the needs of student-athletes and determining and developing individual programs, and formulates, implements, and evaluates operations of the program. Provides technical expertise in the fundamentals of the sport, instructs student-athletes in the basics as well as advanced strategies, and assists the Head Coach in management of the team through recruiting, fund-raising, and promotional activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

At least two years of experience as a coach or graduate assistant coach at the intercollegiate level is required. Extensive player experience at the collegiate level may be substituted for coaching experience. Coaching or player experience in at least a Division II level program preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of MCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility, and related functions is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with students, faculty, and the general public.
Attention to detail.
Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
Ability to operate a computer, printer, and copying machine.
Management and organizational skills are required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in progress
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Graduate Assistants will assist in the supervision of student manager and summer camp counselors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law. Responsibilities include planning, assigned, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel to off-campus locations for matches. Overnight travel is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
