POSITION SUMMARY
The Graduate Assistant - Men’s Soccer Coach serves within the Athletics Department at Emmaus University and provides direct coaching leadership and operational support for the men’s soccer program. This role plays a critical part in advancing the competitive success, culture, and sustainability of the program through effective coaching, recruitment, and student-athlete support. The position pairs the responsibilities of coaching, alongside operational leadership within the daily functions of the Athletics Department.
This position supports a Christ-centered, student-focused athletics experience that emphasizes holistic student-athlete development. Recruitment and retention of student-athletes is a central priority of this role and is advanced through intentional coaching, relationship-building, and collaboration with campus partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Coaching Leadership and Player Development
The Graduate Assistant - Men’s Soccer Coach supports the head coach in all aspects of coaching and program leadership. Responsibilities include:
Assisting with the planning and execution of practices, competitions, and training sessions.
Supporting game preparation, scouting, and film review.
Contributing to player skill development and overall team performance.
Modeling and reinforcing team culture, expectations, and standards.
Maintaining compliance with NCCAA, MCCC, and institutional rules and regulations.
Student-Athlete Recruitment and Retention
Assisting with recruiting efforts, including lead generation, initial point of contact with prospective student-athletes, and coordination of campus visits.
Supporting visit days, unofficial and official visits, and communication with recruits and families.
Collaborating with Enrollment and Athletics staff to support recruiting pipelines.
Investing in student-athletes through mentorship, discipleship, and spiritual formation.
Supporting academic accountability, eligibility, and progress toward degree completion.
Serving as a positive and visible role model within the athletics community.
Athletics Operations
Providing leadership and structure to game-day operations, including event staffing, coordination with PA, music, ticketing, merchandise, concessions, and attendance tracking.
Assisting with travel coordination, equipment management, and facility-use as assigned.
Overseeing uniform and equipment laundry processes, inventory, and seasonal reconciliation.
Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of student workers.
Overseeing athletic facilities usage and reservations, including setup, teardown, equipment requests, coordinating preparation and clean-up needs with Facilities and Housekeeping staff.
Supporting athletics advancement and engagement efforts, including Talon Club events, donor engagement, alumni events, and special initiatives.
Athletics Camps and Events
Coordinating Athletics camps and clinics, including dates, marketing and graphics, t-shirts, facility usage, and registration processes.
Establishing consistent camp experiences across various sports through parent surveys and feedback integration.
Collaborating with the Athletic Director and athletics staff on department-wide events, tournaments, senior-day ceremonies, alumni games, athletic banquets, and golf outings.
Working cross-departmentally with Student Life, Enrollment, Advancement, Facilities, Business Office, and Academic Affairs to support athletics initiatives.
Ensuring compliance with NCCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required.
Admission into the Emmaus Master’s degree program required

Collegiate or high-level coaching experience in soccer preferred.
Demonstrated experience in recruiting and player development.
Knowledge of NCCAA and MCCC regulations preferred.
CPR, AED, First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with coaching and athletic administration, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and willingness to drive for team and athletics-related activities.
Supports all policies and procedures of Emmaus University.
OTHER DUTIES
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development.
Assist with additional athletics initiatives and institutional events as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Soccer Coach or Athletic Director.
COMPENSATION
Graduate Assistants (GA) receive a Full Tuition Waiver for the MA program
GAs receives a stipend of $5,000 for the year.
Housing may be offered as a space available/space appropriate:
Emmaus does not offer housing for married students or housing for children
Married students or students with children will need to secure their own off-campus housing arrangements
A married student would receive 1 meal per work day in the Emmaus dining hall. Additional meals can be purchased at a discounted rate for married students.
GAs are classified as full-time graduate students and not eligible for employee benefits.
GAs must maintain a 3.0 GPA to keep their Graduate Assistantship.
GAs can be dismissed from their Graduate Assistantship if they do not meet the standards of the academic program or of the athletic department requirements
