The Office of Athletics is seeking candidates for Graduate Assistant for Sports Information position.

The Sports Information Graduate Assistant is a part-time position that resides in the Athletic Department reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications. The position assists with specific teams as assigned, in addition to larger department-wide projects. The position assists with compiling/keeping statistical or multiple teams, writing pre- game, postgame and feature stories, managing student-workers assigned to sports information duties at events, maintain strong working relationships with coaches and staff in the Athletic Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary contact for selected teams
- Assist with larger department-wide projects

Main Responsibilities:

- Assist with larger department-wide projects
- Keeps statistics and compiles historical records
- Writing feature and game stories
- Media relations, marketing and social media management
Learning Objectives:
- An understanding of the athletics communications industry from a professional standpoint
- Development of skills to include writing, public relations, and relationship building
- The ability work independently and confidently on multiple and complex tasks with tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in an athletics communication office
- Basic understanding of statistics software including NCAA Live Stats and StatCrew
- An understanding of video editing, livestreaming technology, photography and/or graphic design.
