Job Overview:
The Strength and Conditioning, graduate assistant position begins in the fall semester of 2023. Work under the direction of the Athletic Director and assist with the administration of a successful Division III athletics strength and conditioning program. Assists with the physical development of student-athletes.
Graduate Assistant Positions are limited to applicants seeking degrees in the following programs:
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL)
Master of Science in Criminal Justice
Master of Science in Human Services
Qualifications
Essential Functions:
Work under the direction of the Athletic Director and with head coaches and athletic training staff for the physical development of student-athletes.
Collaborate and communicate with athletic training staff and head coaches regarding team and individual student-athlete strength and conditioning matters.
Confers with Athletic Training staff regarding any injuries involving student-athletes and their ability to participate in strength and conditioning-related activity, or practice or game activity.
Design, implement, and supervise strength and conditioning programs for male and female student-athletes.
Provide and/or assist coaches with technique instruction in strength training and program design within the scope of the sport.
Support Athletic Department staff and student-athlete education and development in strength, conditioning, and nutrition.
Assist in the proper setup, use, and maintenance of conditioning equipment.
Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in a professional, responsible, and positive manner.
Follow all NCAA, GNAC, and Athletics Department guidelines.
Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics by Albertus Magnus College.
All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or athletic administrative staff.
Qualifications:
Previous experience at the collegiate, club, and/or scholastic levels as a student-athlete and/or coach.
Previous experience in a strength and conditioning coaching environment (collegiate weight room, private fitness center) is preferred.
Knowledge of collegiate rules and demonstrated compliance with said rules.
Relevant work experience may be substituted to meet the qualifications for the position.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Acceptance to a graduate program at Albertus Magnus College full-time
Special Work Schedule Requirements :
Some evening and weekend hours will be required
