Job Description

Saint Joseph's College of Maine is accepting applications for the position of GRADUATE ASSISTANT - STRENGTH & CONDITIONING!

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Supports Athletics by providing effective coaching to all Athletic teams; working closely with other professional staff members to ensure smooth function of the student-athlete needs; designing and programming strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams; assisting with items/tasks within the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be matriculated in a graduate degree program at Saint Joseph’s College before the actual start date for the GA position
  • Remain in good academic standing (including a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate progress toward a degree
  • CPR/AED certification is required and must be maintained throughout the course of employment in the position
  • Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) is required
  • At least one year of experience in positions involving the development and management of sport-specific individual and group strength and conditioning programs for men and women is

 

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK ANTICIPATED: 0-20 hours, available August-May. Early afternoon and evening hours are expected.
