The Fairfield University Volleyball program seeks a Graduate Assistant. The GA Coach will assist with the planning, organizing and management of the volleyball program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Knowledgeable of and committed to following Fairfield University, NCAA and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rules and guidelines
Collegiate volleyball playing and/or coaching experience
Must be a highly motivated, self-starter with an outstanding work ethic
Must possess high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
Social media marketing experience
Knowledge of audio-visual technology
Reports to: Head Volleyball Coach
Essential Functions:
Serve as assistant coach for the volleyball program
Participate in the planning, organizing and execution of preseason and in-season practices
Be present at home and road competitions
Provide administrative support with travel related budget management including hotels, buses, meals and expense reports
Provide administrative support with purchasing and accounts payable tasks
Submit compliance reports
Assist Recruiting Coordinator in all aspects of recruiting, including evaluating high performing student-athletes for roster consideration
Assist with equipment and apparel ordering and inventory.
Other duties assigned by full-time volleyball staff
The stipend is $12,000 in addition to the tuition remission of 18 credits per year. Depending on graduate program this is a one-year or two-year commitment. Additional income is available by working summer camps.
