Graduate Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach

Position Purpose

The graduate assistant women’s wrestling coach will work directly with the women’s wrestling program and assist the head coach with all facets of the day-to-day operations of the program in compliance with Hiram College, PAC, and NCAA policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist head coach in practice and competition planning and implementation
• Assist in all facets of recruiting and retention of student-athletes to the women’s wrestling program
• Assist with strength and conditioning program for women’s wrestling
• Assist with all funding raising initiatives for the Hiram College women’s wrestling program
• Do athletic laundry in sport season
• Participate in Annual Day with Hiram Golf Outing
• Other duties as assigned, to possibly include, but not be limited to other sport event management during the off-season

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong working knowledge of women’s wrestling
• Ability to teach skills and strategy of women’s wrestling
• Working knowledge of strength and conditioning relative to women’s wrestling
• Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented office environment and interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the public.
• Microsoft Word
• Excel
• Experience with Front Rush
• Proficient with all forms of social media

Experience

• Previous college women’s wrestling and/or coaching experience preferred
• Experience recruiting college athletes preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Acceptance into the Hiram College MAIS Graduate Program or Sports Management Graduate program required for consideration
