Job Description:

Wittenberg University is searching for a Graduate Assistant (GA) for Athletics- Men's and Women's Wrestling Coach. Beginning in the 2026 fall semester (8/1/26). The university offers a Master's in Sport Administration program that focuses on all aspects of athletic administration. The Graduate Assistantship and enrollment in the master's program will afford the successful candidate the ability to directly apply knowledge in the classroom to the duties they perform within the athletic department. This is a non-exempt, hourly position working no more than 20 hours per week. 

The GA , wrestling coach staff with support all aspects of the wrestling team, men's and women's coaching activities.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:.

• Service to Institution as assigned by Director of Athletics & Recreation reporting to Head Wrestling Coach
• Adherence to NCAA, conference, departmental, and university policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.

 

Requirements:

For this position, we require that candidates have a bachelor's degree in sports management or related field; some related experience; and acceptance into Wittenberg's Master's in Sport Administration program.  Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and be able to effectively and appropriately interact with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators.  Knowledge in the following areas is also required:
 

• Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills (verbal and written) in order to work with a diverse campus community
   

A valid driver's license is required; must meet required insurance qualifications found in Wittenberg Motor Pool policies and procedures. If license is from out of state, successful candidate will need to obtain a valid Ohio driver's license within 30 days of hire date. Travel is required as well as some evening, night, and weekend work.
 

Being authorized to work in the United States is a pre-condition of employment.
