The Graduate Student Coach acts in a coaching role within the football coaching staff. This position will work with the Coordinator and Assistant Coaches as needed with the breakdown of game film, preparation of weekly scouting reports, and on-field coaching responsibilities for assigned position group(s). Develop effective organizational concepts and methods to assist with day-to-day operations of the football program. Create, maintain and manage a state-of-the-art data and video system. Assist with daily practice preparations and selected duties in the coaches press box on game days. The Graduate Student Coach will also assist in the recruiting process by gathering data on- and evaluating film of- prospective student-athletes; this position will assist in recruiting visits (in-person and virtual) and other recruiting duties as assigned by the recruiting coordinator and coaching staff. The Graduate Student Coach will also play a role in the coordination and function of summer camp activities while fostering excellent working relationships and communication within the University community and its constituencies. Handle all other duties as assigned by the Offensive/Defensive Coordinator as well as all other Assistant Football Coaches.

Requires a bachelor’s degree and enrollment as a graduate student. Must have thorough working knowledge of
NCAA
and University regulations relative to the operation of the football program.

NCAA
rules (11.01.3) Graduate assistant coach is any coach who has received a bachelor’s degree; and has either received his or her degree or has exhausted athletics eligibility (whichever occurs later) within the previous seven years.
NFL
contract years are discounted from this timeframe.
