This position will build and lead our intercollegiate program. The head coach is responsible for all aspects of the women’s softball program, including planning and directing team practices, managing recruitment and retention efforts, and ensuring compliance with all NAIA, Sun Conference, and institutional policies.
Coaching & Team Leadership:
Design and implement effective training programs that promote skill development, competitive success, and a positive team culture
Prepare and lead the team in all practices, scrimmages, and competitive games
Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, emphasizing character, discipline, teamwork, and academic achievement
Develop and implement game strategies and scouting reports for opponents
Recruiting & Retention:
Recruit student-athletes who align with New College’s academic standards and values
Establish and maintain strong relationships with high school, club, and travel coaches to identify talent
Support academic progress and retention of student-athletes in collaboration with campus resources

Oversee program operations including budgeting, scheduling, equipment management, and travel coordination
Ensure compliance with all institutional, Sun Conference, and NAIA rules and regulations
Represent the program and college positively within the community and through campus engagement
Promote team visibility and spirit through service, outreach, and campus collaboration
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Demonstrated coaching experience in softball at the high school, collegiate, or club level
Knowledge of softball strategy, training methods, and current trends in the sport
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes
Master’s degree in a related field
Collegiate-level coaching and recruiting experience, preferably within the NAIA or NCAA
Familiarity with NAIA compliance regulations and the Sun Conference environment
