The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for the care, prevention, management, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic related injuries and illnesses of Albany State University student-athletes for all 11 sport programs and cheerleading. The Head Athletic Trainer will work directly with athletics administration, coaches, physicians, dietitians, strength & conditioning personnel and university health center to deliver comprehensive healthcare and wellness services for Albany State University student-athletes. The Head Athletic Trainer will have a wide range of clinic and administrative responsibilities which include prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes; pre-participation physicals; inventory management of supplies and equipment; maintaining medical records; completing required insurance claims; daily interaction, communication, and relationship building with coaching, strength and conditioning coaches, physicians, athletic training staff and athletics administration; attending team practices and events; In addition, the position is responsible for the supervision of three full-time Certified Athletic Trainers and assigned Master of Athletic Training Students. The Head Athletic Trainer reports directly to the Director of Athletics.

Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, sports or health care, or other related field.
Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
Licensed with the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers
Certified in CPR & First Aid
Salary is commensurate with experience
