TITLE: Head Athletic Trainer
FLSA STATUS : Exempt (Salaried)
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
REPORTS TO: Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
JOB STATUS: Full time (at least 37.5 hours per week)
Summary:
The Head Athletic Trainer is a full-time, 12-month position in the Department of Athletics reporting to the Director of Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics. The Head Athletic Trainer is sensitive to the needs of a diverse student body and is committed to assisting the Department of Athletics in enhancing and supporting the student-athlete experience consistent with the mission of a Sinsinawa Dominican Catholic liberal arts university.
Job Components:
The Head Athletic Trainer handles responsibilities pertaining to student-athlete health and wellness. The day-to-day components of the position ranges from providing the care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all student-athletes to scheduling coverage for scheduled practices, home contests and selected away contests to overseeing, creating and tracking all student-athlete medical forms and insurance. The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for managing the athletic training operating budget and supervising and scheduling part-time assistant athletic trainer(s) and student-workers. All job components shall be completed with attention to university, conference and NCAA compliance, rules and regulations while supporting the leadership, direction and vision of the Director of Athletics.
