The Head Athletic Trainer will coordinate medical care and comprehensive athletic training services for all student-athletes at Roosevelt. The Head Athletic Trainer will supervise outsourced assistant athletic trainers and establish goals, objectives and plans of action for the training room within the Lillian and Larry Goodman Center, as well as all home practices and competitions. The individual will maintain comprehensive records of athletic injuries and treatments, formulate effective therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation plans and make referrals. The Head Athletic Trainer will communicate regularly with team physicians, coaching and administrative staff. The individual will oversee all insurance related inquiries and the submission of any needed documentation.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field. A minimum of 1-3 years experience working within a high school, college or professional athletic organization. Certified Athletic Trainer with a valid license Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. A positive and professional demeanor is a must. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 1-3 Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training License Please refer to knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Athletic training room modalities Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job will require work in outdoor areas at team practices and competitions in varying weather conditions. The role will require work on nights and weekends and travel with athletic teams as assigned. Essential Job Functions | Duty and Responsibility | Provide care and comprehensive services for athletic related injuries before, during and after all home practices and competitions. Communicate with student-athletes, team physicians, coaching and administrative staff on issues related to an individual student’s health. Formulate effective treatments and rehabilitation plans for injured student-athletes and aid in referrals as needed.

Oversee assistant athletic trainers, including scheduling and hours maintenance. Assign athletic trainers to the training room, practice facilities and competition venues to ensure necessary coverage.
