Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

A bachelor’s degree in a related field.

A minimum of 1-3 years experience working within a high school, college or professional athletic organization.

Certified Athletic Trainer with a valid license

Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.

Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

A positive and professional demeanor is a must.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job will require work in outdoor areas at team practices and competitions in varying weather conditions. The role will require work on nights and weekends and travel with athletic teams as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

| Duty and Responsibility |
Servicing Student Athletes:

Provide care and comprehensive services for athletic related injuries before, during and after all home practices and competitions. Communicate with student-athletes, team physicians, coaching and administrative staff on issues related to an individual student’s health. Formulate effective treatments and rehabilitation plans for injured student-athletes and aid in referrals as needed. | | Percentage Of Time | 70 |

Training Room Management:

Maintain and ensure privacy of comprehensive records of all athletic injuries and treatment plans. Oversee assistant athletic trainers, including scheduling and hours maintenance. Assign athletic trainers to the training room, practice facilities and competition venues to ensure necessary coverage. | | Percentage Of Time | 20 |

Insurance Facilitation:

Oversee the department’s secondary insurance program for student-athletes. Facilitate submission of proper documentation and answer insurance inquiries from students, parents and medical entities. | | Percentage Of Time | 10 |
