Description: King University is accepting applications for the position of Head Athletic Trainer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and direction of all aspects of King’s athletic training operation, including oversight of 4 assistant athletic trainers.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field is required; 3 years’ experience as an athletic trainer in a college setting; NATA-BOC Certification; must be eligible to be licensed in the state of Tennessee; Note: Based on experience and qualifications, other titles and responsibilities may be considered (e.g. Director of Sports Medicine).
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field; Experience as a Head Athletic Trainer at the college level, or equivalent;
Responsibilities: Support student athletes in areas related to athletic participation including, but not limited to injury prevention, assessment, and treatment; maintain strong working relationship with the Team Physician and other physicians and medical professionals; serve as the Athletic Insurance Coordinator, including primary liaison with the institution’s secondary insurance provider; coordinate department-wide drug testing program; comply with rules and regulations of the NCAA, insurance providers, and other relevant governing and supervisory bodies.
