Job Description

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for planning and directing the Baseball program, which includes the recruitment of scholar athletes, practice and game management, overseeing assistant coaches, scheduling, budgeting and the promotion of the CUC Baseball Program.

The secondary duty for the Head Baseball Coach is to provide vision and leadership with sponsorships for the University athletic department, The Head Baseball Coach will work with the Director of Athletics and assist with creating a revenue stream for athletics at the University. This position is an integral part in fostering community relations and engagement and raising funds for the University. The Head Baseball Coach ensures compliance with all federal, conference, and university athletics regulations and reporting, administers department funds and accounts in a fiscally responsible manner, and sustains a culture of sportsmanship, integrity, professionalism, and respect.

The Head Baseball Coach is a dynamic individual who exhibits a vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, displaying Christ-centered servant leadership and a commitment to student success. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Baseball Program Management

  • Responsible for all aspects of on-site coaching while creating an environment that is consistent with the values of the university and fostering the development of the student-athlete.
  • Manages the annual competitive practice and game/event schedule, arranging facility reservations and travel details for the program.
  • Oversees individual workout plans for each athlete to maximize skill development and potential, understanding of the game and game strategy
  • Oversees program inventory, purchasing, storage and maintenance of equipment/uniforms.
  • Ensures all insurance forms, athletic eligibility certificates and end of season forms are filed in a timely manner with the Athletic Office.
  • Runs summer camps/clinics and other activities that support the baseball program.
