This position is responsible for directing and coaching the University’s Baseball Program.
Responsibilities/Accountability:
Supervises and manages all aspects of coaching the Baseball team.
Abides, complies and enforces all applicable NAIA, GCAC, and DU policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Attends practices and competitions.
Responsible for budget control, scheduling, and travel arrangements.
Organizes and administers the recruitment of students and the practices of the student-athletes in a manner to produce the highest level of success.
Coordinates and administers the academic progress and character building of the athletes to assist them in balancing athletics and academics in order to insure retention and academic success.
Assists Athletics Department with fundraising endeavors.
Performs summer duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Maintains a positive relationship with the student-athletes, faculty, staff, community, media, and other constituents.
Participates in college, department, administrative meetings, and committees, as required/requested
Performs related duties.

Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles.
Knowledge of Baseball rules and procedures.
Knowledge of budget management principles.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Knowledge of student recruitment principles.
Knowledge of NAIA and GCAC rules.
Skill in the coaching and training of student-athletes.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in oral and written communication.
If eligible, in academic or related experience, this position may include credited class instruction, FYI instruction, or training. Eligibility is in accordance with Academic Affairs policies.
Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree required.
Two years of related experience required.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Louisiana for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a First Aid, CPR/AED certification
Possession of or ability to readily obtain NAIA certification within four weeks of hire date.
Work Conditions
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.
The work is typically performed in an office and in athletics facilities.
The scope of the job frequently requires working in the evenings and on weekends.
